Favourite Drugstore Fall Lipsticks!

Hi guys!

I wanted to do a post on my favourite lipsticks for the fall but that didn't work out too well. Lip products are my weakness which is what made this post so hard to do! I decided to narrow it down to my top 10 drugstore favourites for this time of year. They are both beautiful and very affordable and yes, you need them all.

First 5 lipsticks are all Wet n Wild!

1) Mochalicious - A mocha brown, perfect for the 90s grunge look
2) Sandstorm - Light milk chocolate brown with an orange undertone
3) Ravin Raison - A raison purple, the name says it all :)
4) Cherry Bomb - A deep red with a hint of berry

5) In the flesh - A dusty rose with brown undertones

  • Very affordable ($1.99 USD, $3.60 CAD)
  • No scent
  • Not drying
  • Huge colour selection
  • Highly pigmented
  • Good lasting power
  • hate the packaging and clear lid that gets dirty
Cons:
  • You do have to drag them on a bit as they aren't very creamy
  • The packaging is poor quality, as you would expect for such a low price (The clear lid gets very dirty)
The next two are Maybelline!

6) Touch of Spice - medium dark rosy plum with brown undertones
7) Lust for Blush - A cool toned pink with mauve undertones
They all have a beautiful silky but very matte finish!

  • Glides on smoothly and with full colour
  • Very creamy
  • Colour selection was well selected and would flatter many skin tones
  • Good lasting power
Cons: NONE! GO BUY THEM NOW! They are my all time favourite drugstore lipstick formula!

8) Uptown Mauve - Bright Reddish Muave

9) Plumrose - A medium toned rose pink
They both have a cream finish.
Pros:

  • Super creamy
  • Full colour coverage
  • Smells like watermelon candy!!!
  • The packaging is beautiful
  • The line has a selection of colours and finishes
Cons:
  • They are not matte...that's a con right? :P (No cons! These are amazing quality lipsticks!)
NYX!

10) San Paulo - Rich rose pink

Pros:

  • Smells like vanilla!
  • The colour selection is HUGE
  • Velvety texture
  • Dries matte quickly
  • Buildable coverage
  • Very lightweight
Cons:
  • Does not go on opaque in one swipe
  • Not as long lasting as other "liquid lipsticks"
There you go! My list of fall lipstick loves! None of these are lipsticks that I have bought recently, I've used them for a good amount of time to be able to wear and fall in love with them. I'm going to be doing more posts like this but with swatches next time.
Thank you for reading! :)

Best Friends Forever?

"People come into your life for a reason, season or a lifetime”
  • Someone who obviously knows what they are talking about
I’ve been thinking a lot about the friendships I’ve made over my 21 years of life. Yes, I am aware that I’m acting as if I’m 80 years old and I need to reflect on my years on this planet, you should do it too! I’ve never been one to have a large group of friends and it’s not only because I was a quiet and extremely shy girl growing up, I prefer having a small group of close friends I can trust and inevitably grow unhealthy attachments to. That’s where my friendships became problematic. It is natural to become emotionally invested in close friendships because they are based on love, and it’s human nature to love and want to be loved. Friendship like every other relationship in your life takes work and balance. You need to balance being selfish and selfless. Sometimes it is important to put others before yourself, and sometimes you have to learn to say no without any guilt. You need to know when a friendship is over and that it is important for your well being to remove toxic people from your life - that’s a blog post for another day. I have always been one to put a lot of love and effort into my friendships and looking back I see myself being walked all over and being okay with it. I’ve learned to change how I approach the relationships in my life, with an open mind and heart with the knowledge that they are susceptible to change. I know when I need to come closer and when I need to back away. I know not to surround myself with toxic company because that is going to interfere in a relationship that is the most important, the one with myself! God may have placed someone in your life at a specific time and for a reason and once that purpose has been completed they may drift away, and that is okay. You may have someone who is very close to be for a few years and they may drift away, and that is okay. The most beautiful friendships we will have in life are the ones that last until we leave this world, and that is more than okay.  :)

Beauty Review - LANEIGE Water Bank Gel Cream

LANEIGE Water Bank Gel Cream
24 Hour Cooling Rescue Cream infused with Hydro Ionized Mineral Water and Biogen Technology
For normal to combination skin

This moisturizer was love at first try, but I wan
ted to give myself time to use it on a regular basis before I formed my opinion and reviewed it. I have normal to combination skin which in my opinion is the most annoying skin type to have. It is the skin type that like my personality has many mood swings and flexuates depending on the weather or the time of month (haha). It can be difficult to find products that are hydrating enough and don’t leave excess shine. The formula of the Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream is very rich and silky but not tacky at all on the skin. You can just see and feel the difference instantly. It moisturizes perfectly so that your skin feels amazing and your makeup doesn’t look all dry and crusty on top…we all know and despise that look. There is no greasy residue that many hydrating moisturizers tend to leave, clearly a perfectly balanced product. It is also very cooling on the skin which is perfect for early mornings as an instant wake me up product before we take down our beloved cups of caffeine. A con that some may find over bearing is the scent. I personally love the scent! It is very fresh…that’s the best I can do to describe it. I know that many people stay away from high fragranced products and if you are one of those people this product is not for you. Another downside is that it does not contain SPF and none of us want sun damage to our skin or wrinkles. I am willing to take the extra step to add an SPF to my face before using this product…the things we do for love.

I have received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. :)

First Blog Post!

There is no such thing as two individuals being exactly the same. Though this is an obvious fact that we are all aware of I need to take a moment to acknowledge the beauty behind this. We as people are completely different from one another. Different lifestyles, families, views, interests and along with the physical differences. Despite the differences we have many similarities. We are human. We are not perfect. We all struggle, go through hard times, go through rough patches in every phase of life. I want my blog to be some place where I can share some personal insight on this beautiful lifelong struggle and blessing that is life. It is easy to look at the exterior of someones life whether it be through social media or knowing them from a distance and assuming they are happy and everything in their life is perfect. That is not true at all, it is easy today to create an image. People only post what they want you to see and know about them. Social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are great platforms to share parts of life with the world, but it is important to look beyond that. That is what I want to write about. That is how I want to relate to others.

As well as writing pieces on modest fashion and beauty reviews because we should never forget the fun stuff amidst our hectic day to day lives.  :)
